Dr. Russel Martin, DVM

After graduating from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Dr. Russel Martin earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1993. Dr. Martin is able to utilize his extensive skill and experience as a small animal veterinarian, although his passion is small animal medicine and surgery. His extensive experience includes work with large, small and exotic animals. In 1993 he began his career in Williamson County at a two-doctor practice as the primary DVM responsible for all surgical patients.

The following year he began work with Georgetown Breeding Services. While there, Dr. Martin developed a successful embryo transfer program for several Boer goat breeders in the central Texas area and oversaw all aspects of the implementation of that program. In 1995, Dr. Martin worked in a multi-doctor practice in Spring, Texas. During his fifteen years there, Dr. Martin performed multiple soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures weekly, was responsible for the diagnosis and management of a steady stream of internal medicine cases. Additionally, Dr. Martin was essential to the functioning of a mobile vaccine clinic, where he saw and vaccinated over 30,000 pets annually. In 2011, he opened Comanche Trail Veterinary Center. Dr. Martin has lived in Liberty Hill for over five years with his wife Shauna, his two sons, Ryder and Cole, his Brittany, Josie and a handful of Texas Longhorn cattle.

Dr. Gonzalez, DVM

I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I was a Veterinary Technician for 14 years and attended Austin Community College, Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and then graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. I’ve worked in Las Vegas and San Antonio, with 11 years in emergency medicine. I returned to Texas to be with my family and to concentrate on small animal medicine with a special interest in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and Geriatric Medicine. I’m currently a member of AVMA and TVMA. I’m living in Leander, TX with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy movies, music, swimming and hanging out with my sisters, friends, and family.
